For the first time in the Baltics, the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) with the participation of CONWAY will conduct a day course on the inspection and repair of dry sea containers
The Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL), established in 1971, is a commercial organization whose members lease containers or container transporting devices for ship or other operations. The organization has 11 permanent members, who together own 85% of containers rented in the world. This is 40% of the global container fleet.
IICL members are: — Beacon Intermodal Leasing, LLC; CAI International, Inc.; Direct ChassisLink Inc.; FlexiVan Leasing, Inc.; SeaCube Containers LLC; TOUAX Container Leasing; TRAC Intermodal; Triton International Limited; Textainer Equipment Management (U.S.) Ltd. IICL is governed by the annually elected Board of Directors. Practical activities are carried out by the permanent Secretariat and several committees working on taxes, technical, legal and other issues. The organization was actively involved in the preparation of the International Convention for Safe Containers 1972. The working groups on the use and development of the electronic data exchange, the use of computer equipment, etc. have been created.
Developed and used computer control programs for assessing the strength of containers have been developed and used, standards for assessing the strength and repair of containers have been elaborated. IIСL has a consultative status at IMO, UNCRAD, ISO.
The Institute has developed a number of standards for inspections and testing of containers, training container inspectors.
The goal of this course is: Improve the level of qualification in the container business, understanding the criteria for inspection of container equipment, repairs and equipment.
Familiarize the latest updates of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), as well as the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Training location: The morning session on theoretical training will be held in the auditorium of the business center, and the practical part at a terminal in the port of Riga, where the IICL inspector will show the specifics of the inspection directly on sea containers.

Who is this course for?
The course is ideal for employees of sea terminals, container depots, repair crews, surveyors, representatives of equipment departments of sea container lines, professionals who want to learn more about the history, rules and operation of sea containers.
Language: English. It is possible to organize a translator in Latvian and Russian. Course: One full day, half a day of theory in the audience and a practical part at the terminal in the port of Riga. For each participant: Certificate of Course Attendance; Books and IICL Guide on Inspecting Container Equipment, 6th Edition; Check and Repair Attachment, gray areas, 2nd edition and Steel Cargo Container Repair Manual.
